Windows - Delayed Write Failed: SOLVED!

This message popped on my Acer Aspire1 laptop screen: AVG10 failure.

Now, this (the same heading DWF but different file):
Windows - Delayed Write Failed
Windows was unable to save all the data for the file C:\Program Files\Google\Update. Data has been lost. May be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this elsewhere.

I've turned on and off my laptop a few times now but I can't do anything on it. Cursor can be moved around but can't click on anything at all. I'm looking up for solution now using my mother's laptop, which I helped fixing last week. I just hope now that this one won't crash while I'm searching for my own laptop's solution. Fingers-crossed!

I will update this post when I find a suitable solution and when it works alright.

If some of you are expert on this field, please share your expertise on the comment box. :D

Have a great week!

****************************
UPDATE:
I found the culprit! It was the Uniblue's SpeedUpMyPC which was the last one in the package I installed.

First was  the DriverScanner.   It was fine except for the update for the Sypnatics PS/2 Port Pointing Device driver. Cursor was way too fast and can't point and click on the icons on my laptop screen. It keeps 'missing the spot'! If you know what I mean. It was the same even if I adjusted the setting. So I reconfigured it back to the old setting/driver.

Next was the RegistryBooster. It went well so that's okay.

Last was SpeedUpMyPC. After I installed it, everything seemed to be alright. I turned off my laptop at bed time. When I turned it back on in the morning, that's when the error messages popped up. I turned my laptop on and off a lot of times. But it remained the same. I can't do anything.

Good thing there's another laptop within reach (as mentioned above) so I was able to search and read possible causes. I found these decent sites that presented different possible reasons for the DWF (Delayed Write Failed):

Gibni

Social.Technet

Solutions offered are overwhelming but I read them thoroughly. I even thought it was a virus as suggested by Social.Technet So I posted comment on the topic to get help:

I did restart windows, pressed F8 then chose 'Start Windows in Safe Mode'. However, my laptop didn't respond, nothing can be clicked nor pressed. So I turned it off again and restarted. But got the same result.

In the end, what made more sense was the Gibni's 8 Common Reasons for a Delayed-Write Failure

Then, I remembered that I installed that SpeedUpMyPC before all these happened, so that's probably the reason. So I restarted Windows again, pressed F8 then scrolled up and chose the:

Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked)

And it worked! The first thing I did as soon as Windows opened and that I can click on anything and press any keys, I uninstalled the SpeedUpMyPC. Finished the process, restarted and whala!

Everything went back to normal.

Digital Scrapbook Giveaway Contest - Extended Until December 15, 2011

Extending this Giveaway contest for another month to
give others a chance to Win 'My Memories Suite'.
Scroll down for the contest rules.

Photobucket

I'm excited to share with you all
Photobucket
Digital Scrapbooking software that I recently been playing around with my eight-year old son, EJ. We had fun using this digital scrapbooking software because it is so easy to use. My son chose our photos from our album Gornergrat (Switzerland) and to be able to share as soon as we can, we added just a few embellishments and some information about the photographs. There are a lot that can be added to the project e.g. embellishments (buttons, flowers, etc.) change background paper, word art designer, change photo shapes, add music or narration, and so much more. Not only that, My Memories Suite projects can also be turned into a calendar, interactive album, make movie out of it, or an ipod-ready movie, etc.

I exported my (simple) My Memories Suite project: Gornergrat, Switzerland to JPEG then uploaded it to my photobucket account. Here it is:

Aren't Teachers Supposed to be Second Parents?

We see teachers as second parents for our own children. They took that job 'second parents' so I expect them to have patience and to 'care' for my son as if he is their own son or even as a nephew. Teachers aren't just there in the classrooms to write lessons, homework, spelling lists, etc. They are there to sharpen the minds of little kids; to help kids to solve science or math or reading and comprehension problems.

Of course, we are forever grateful to teachers who helped honed the great minds of science inventors, lawyers, doctors, country leaders, et al. and hey, they helped honed minds of great Moms too! I salute teachers for their drive and passion to cultivate young minds.

I can only imagine what it's like to go to work everyday, stand in the middle of

the classroom and try to have your own voice be heard by twenty or thirty (or even more) kids. I'm feeling exhausted already by just imagining that I'm surrounded by screaming kids, or crying, or getting sick, or complaining about all sorts, etc.

However, why do I have this strong feeling of homeschooling my son?

My son, EJ, comes home from school (in the school bus) often very hungry. Why? Because lunch time was used for other school activities e.g. copying homework, finishing penmanship, etc.

I must admit that my son is lazy writing or practicing penmanship. But I don't get it why stop kids from having their lunch and force them to do schoolwork at their own lunch time?

I'm not against the idea of making kids do their work. But why not make sure all kids do the schoolwork during the class hours? Is it difficult to remind kids? And, is it annoying to keep reminding them?

My son is skinny and very active. So I always want him fully fed and well-nourished. Most of the time, I cook his lunch for school then pack it in his lunch bag with snacks and drinks, either milk or juice and water.

It ticks me off when he comes home from school saying,
Mommy, I'm so dizzy and hungry.

Why?

My teacher said I have to finish writing.

Huh? Why wasn't it done during class hours? And, your lunch time is 11:40am, not 4::00pm!

This is not my only concern.

A couple of nights ago, EJ argued that he can stay up late until nine because his science teacher said that,
Nine o'clock is a good bed time.

It's a 'must' that his bed time is at eight o'clock. Sometimes, when we are not busy and he finished his homework early, he goes to bed at 7:30pm or earlier. This is our houserule, that a kid should go to bed early because they need a lot of sleep. A good night's sleep processes everything that a kid has learned.

Sigh. That's not all. Saving the worst for last.

A few weeks ago, my son said to me,
Mommy, I know what 'dick' means.

Before he says anything else, I said,
Yeah it's a nickname.

Looking at me with a question in his eyes.
I think my classmate said it to another boy, but I didn't hear it. Then another classmate asked teacher what it means. She said it's peepee.

(referring to his genital. Yeah I know my eight-year old son still doesn't know the term for his "peepee". Now he knows the rude term for it!)

Ooopps, it's lunch time! Better get my lunch before I get dizzy. I hope my son is getting his lunch now too.

Tutorial: My Memories Suite (Digital Scrapbook) - Using Outside Content

A follow up post from the Giveaway Contest I posted last month. (Winner will be announced eight hours from now. So those who wishes to participate and take the CHANCE to win the software, you still have a few hours to do so.)
This is THE most asked question of all. "Can I use OUTSIDE CONTENT in My Memories Suite software?"
The answer is: "Yes, definitely!" It’s a few quick and simple techniques, and you’ll be creating amazing pages like a pro in no time at all!

Here is the comprehensive clip for 'My Memories Suite' tutorial. The main objective of this tutorial is to help MMS (My Memories Suite) users to get the most out of this amazing software. The topic is about using outside content.  Hence, it is about incorporating other sources to create your own digital scrapbook e.g. background papers, embellishments.

One of the best things about MyMemories Suite software is it’s ability to use content you find on most any digital scrapbooking website to create great projects for you and your family. When you find DIGITAL BACKGROUND PAPERS that you either buy or download as freebies from websites other than MyMemories.com, it’s easy to pull them into your project to create just the look you want without being limited to only content found on the MyMemories website!

If you can't access/view the clip nor can't hear the audio, please read below:

To Use BACKGROUND PAPER:

• Open the page in your project that you wish to add an outside background paper to Click on the BACKGROUND PAPERS tab in the right-hand side CONTROL PANEL on your work screen

• Click on the CUSTOM FOLDER on the Background papers tab

• Select the FILE/FOLDER from the drive where your outside content is stored - you should be able to navigate to any location on your computer from here (even your external hard-drive if you have one

• Double click to open your selected file

• Click on either the NAME or the THUMBNAIL image of the paper you wish to add to your project and click OK. That will add the selected paper to your project as a BACKGROUND PAPER.

-This will cover the whole project page with the paper you chose. You will not be able to layer anything under it. -

BUT IF you wish to use your outside BACKGROUND PAPER as a mat or wish to be able to resize it on your page for layering purposes, or use it as a SHAPE use this method…

• Open the PHOTO TAB on the LEFT-HAND side RESOURCE GALLERY

• Navigate to the folder/file where your background paper is saved with the SELECT FOLDER option

• Choose the paper you wish to use and drag it into your layout (even thought it is a “paper” it is a JPEG file which acts the same as a photo image

• Then when you click on the paper image, the PHOTO TOOLS panel will pop open because the paper was added as a photo, so you can use any of the tools, including the SHAPE TOOL to cut your paper into any of the shapes you have available.

To Use EMBELLISHMENTS:

• Open the page in your project that you wish to add an outside embellishments to Click on the EMBELLISHMENTS tab in the right-hand side CONTROL PANEL on your work screen.

• Click on the ADD EMBELLISHMENT button on the Embellishments tab

• Click on the BROWSE OTHER button on the Choose Embellishments interface pop-up box … it’s right under the list of installed MMS content

• Select the FILE/FOLDER from the drive where your outside content is stored - you should be able to navigate to any location on your computer from here (even your external hard-drive if you have one)

• Double click to open your selected file

• Click on either the NAME or the THUMBNAIL image of the paper you wish to add to your project and click OK

• That will add the selected paper to your project as an EMBELLISHMENT you can resize it, rotate it, duplicate it, add shadows to suit your taste.

The Secret: A Desire To Change For The Better

Never try to compel others to change;
leave them free to change naturally
and orderly because they want to;
and they will want to when they find
that your change was worthwhile.

To inspire in others a desire to change
for the better is truly noble;
but this you can do only by leaving them alone,
and becoming more noble yourself.

- Christian D. Larson (1874-1954)
Mastery of Self

The Secret - Daily Teachings

I, too, believe not to force others to be what I think they should be. After all, who the heck am I to decide for them? I am nobody.

And, even if we try to compel others to change, they won't. We can only try to influence them. That's because a desire to change comes from within.

Let people change because they want to;
not because you want them to.
And, show them that it is noble to change.

Have you compelled anyone to change?
