EJ Pulled His Own Tooth Out!

Mommy, this tooth is moving.

EJ was showing me his left canine tooth. He touched it and indeed, it was dangling.

Let me pull it out, EJ.

No, Mommy! I'll do it myself.

He went in front of our life size mirror and he pulled the tooth out very slowly. Then showed me the tooth.

Here Mommy look. Oh! I'll wrap it in a tissue and keep it under my pillow.

I think he got that idea from a tooth fairy movie, I can't be certain. When I was a kid, I don't know what my parents did. And I don't think we ever talked about myth of tooth fairy. After all, there's no tooth fairy in Philippine mythology. If I'm mistaken, please let me know.

I can vaguely remember my father saying something like
Let's hope the mouse gives you stronger permanent teeth.

I didn't know what he meant that time, didn't bother asking and I don't know what he did with my tooth. Instead, I ran away to play with my toys.

Now I wonder what's the practice in other countries. Do you believe in tooth fairy? What do you do when you lose a tooth?
